This part of the Cold Spring Canyon network of trails leads from the trailhead on Mountain Drive up to Gibraltar Road. There is a split a few hundred yards from the parking area. A sign indicating the West Fork is found near a bench on the main route. The West Fork heads to the left across Cold Spring Creek.
