The Narrows

The “Bottoms Up” hike in the Narrows of Zion National Park in January 2012. The “Narrows” is a section of canyon that is up to 2000 feet deep and in some spots only 20 feet wide (this area is known as “Wall Street”). There is no actual route other than just following the river through the canyon.  The water temperature was about 38 degrees. I was wearing a drysuit and many layers of neoprene on my feet. I did manage to stay warm and comfortable throughout the hike. I only met two other hikers in the Canyon that day.
